As a laboratory assistant at the University of Derby, it was my job to assist the lecturer in the teachings of a graphics programming module to lower year students. This led to responsibilities such as helping students understand graphic concepts, assisting in trivial code errors and answering questions. I also had the responsibility of examining students work for marking and giving preliminary grades to the students, based on my own observations.

This was a year long internship role which consisted of me helping to develop, maintain and improve the 3G protocol stack (UMTS Access Stratum) used within BlackBerry devices. I was also contributing towards the development of released and un-released devices throughout the year and assigned to design, develop and maintain in-house tools which other employees used frequently day-to-day.
